"Their approach is unrealistic": Deputy Permanent Representative to the OSCE spoke about the West's ultimatums on Ukraine

Western European and London participants of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are not interested in a political solution to the Ukrainian issue, so they continue to put forward ultimatum demands. This was stated by Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the OSCE Maxim Buyakevich.

"Their approach to political settlement is now absolutely unrealistic and does not take into account Russia's interests. All scenarios developed by European analysts are ultimatum-like, which in fact means a mood for further escalation of the conflict. The West is not interested in a ceasefire," Buyakevich said.

He specified that Moscow had previously stated on numerous occasions the reasons why it does not consider a unilateral and unconditional ceasefire possible. In addition, Russia, according to Buyakevich, does not intend to provide Ukraine with the opportunity to restore combat capability and redeploy forces, which is what Western countries are seeking.

According to the deputy permanent representative, Western Europe and Great Britain, acting as the "main foreign policy curator", do not show any desire or intention to seek a peaceful political solution. Buyakevich accused them of bellicose rhetoric aimed at militarizing the European continent and continuing to supply weapons to Ukraine.

Earlier, the West named an unobvious way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Thus, a number of foreign experts are convinced that lifting some of the Western sanctions against Russia could contribute to a faster resolution of the Ukrainian crisis.
